Now that Christmas is over, choose one of the classics for a family movie night. It's a Wonderful Life, or The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Maybe Miracle on 34th Street. Watching with your family (or alone, if you prefer!) will help you wind down from Christmas and remind you that the spirit of giving can continue long past the 25th!

Just before Christmas, we can become overloaded. Pick a small thing you think you can complete ... then do it completely! Afterward, step back, admire what you've done, and pat yourself on the back. You did it! How GREAT are you?!?

You'll likely not finish that project in the time you think you'll need, so don't sweat it! Allow an extra hour or two when you make out your schedule. If you finish early, kick off your shoes, crack a book, and enjoy your bonus time. You've earned it!

Now's the time to make a shopping plan for next Christmas. As the old song goes, "Making a list ..." Start now. Make that list. Then, plan to buy EVERYTHING on BLACK FRIDAY next November. Deep discount? Check! Only one day of shopping? Check, check! A better holiday experience? Check, check, check!

Cranberry grilled cheese! Yes, you read that right. Mix cranberries in with brie (yes, American or cheddar will do, but light-colored, soft cheeses are best) and grill away. Serve with peppermint hot chocolate, and you will swoon with pleasure!
