The way to maintain your summer fitness is to do these things: 1. Find an activity you love: gardening, hiking, surfing, running. 2. Use your alarm clock to get out in the cooler parts of the day, or schedule outdoor plans in the evenings. 3. Get the family involved: a picnic, volleyball on the beach, or visiting the local pool. Whatever your "fitness dos" are, just DO them!

A good tip for cold water all day long, even in the heat, is to fill water bottles about a third full and lay them on their side in the freezer. Just before heading out, fill them with water and you are set for the day. The ice will be on the side and won't block the flow of refreshment when you're thirsty!

Your cordless life ... on the sand, too! Use power tool batteries to mount a cordless fan on your beach cart or chair and stay cool on those sultry days of summer. Extra batteries are an easy way to extend your brilliance. It's a win-win (and oh, so cool!) solution.

Tip No. 1: Sunscreen! Every day!

Tip No. 2: Sunglasses! Get the good ones!

Tip No. 3: Use makeup with SPF. It's worth the cost!

Tip No. 4: During high UV hours, search out the shade!

Okay, you've got this. Get out there and have a good time!

You may not make it to the track this year, but how about a themed party? Pimento sandwiches, a big hat, and purple trimmings at the table. Whether you claim the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, or the Belmont Stakes, ramp it up with the pomp and circumstance of the real thing. You'll feel you are really there!
