Toy boxes and clutter drawers seem to attract dust. Here's a solution: Punch (or drill)holes in a plastic pill container. Slip it over the end of your vacuum hose and vacuum away. It will get all the dust without picking up anything it shouldn't. Problem solved!



Cooler weather can squash outdoor activities. Don't let the TV fill the empty space in your days. Options instead: reading, crafting, or (dare I suggest) housework thatyou put off during summer. Keeping busy can also curb the fall munchies we all seem to get. Now, up! And busy!


Here's a good way to know which wall switch controls what: color code them. Example: gray for fans, black for garbage disposal. Switch it up with your own colors. Just a dot of color on the tip of the switch, or color the entire thing. Nail polish works well for this!


If you have an irrigation system in your yard or garden, now's the time to winterize it. Turn off the controller AND the water at the source (just not for the entire house). If you have a drain for your system, it's a good idea to open that, too. Winter, we're ready for you!


It's fall (if no one noticed), so vegetable soup is on the menu. Sweet potatoes, squash, even kale. Any seasonal vegetables will do. If you want, start with a vegetable broth first. Cook and puree (or leave it chunky!). You will enjoy the warmth of fall flavor in every spoonful!
