That's right. Start planning now so you are ready on the first day of warm weather. If you need the help of a professional, now's the time to get bids. Your added bonus? You can feel justified dreaming of summer even as the snow piles up on your patio!

Treat your January home like a crime scene. Would visitors find evidence of your holiday revelling hidden behind the recliner, in the upstairs bath, or heaven forbid, a holiday towel still in your kitchen drawer? Toss it or pack it, ready to pull back out in ELEVEN MONTHS! Happy January!

Kick healthy eating off by putting your juicer or blender on permanent display on your counter. (And I don't mean DISPLAY. Plan to put it to use!) Your healthy fruits and veggies will fall inside, and you can shortcut cleanup by letting your freshly washed appliance air dry out in the open!

Old calendars, that is. It's January of the new year. Old calendars banished! If you have useful information on your 2020 calendar, tuck it in a file but don't leave it out. Toss it, shred it, make room for the new! You'll feel like you're getting a fresh start (and after 2020's pandemic, whew!!).

January tends to be cold, and after the festivities of December, it's tempting to hibernate. DON'T DO IT. The short days and cold weather can bring on depression. Make plans with friends, go see your grandkids, just GET OUT THERE. (Besides, the world wants to see your face! Indulge the people who are used to seeing you out and around!)
