Sometimes a change of scenery is all you need. Whether you're feeling down, can't seem to come up with new ideas, or are bored, move to a different room (or even outside!) to give yourself a fresh look at the day. You may feel better or get a new idea in the process.

Take time to jot down the events of the day. When you look back at your journal, you'll see you have good days and bad, but the good always comes back around.

Jot down a list of activities that make you happy. Include a few you can do on the spur of the moment. When you're stressed, pull out your Instant Cheer list and do a happy thing. You'll enjoy the day better for it.

Create a folder on your computer to keep your happy things in. Open it occasionally, maybe every couple of months. It will give you a smile, and knowing it's there will give you a reason to add more.

When your day with your kids is challenging, look for one small win and cheer it on. A made bed, brushed teeth, or a toy moved to a shelf. However small, make it a big deal with a treat and praise. You'll both find the day improves from that moment on.
