If you like to sew, it's time to move away from the Universal needle. It's part Ball Point and Sharp needle and does neither application especially well. If you like to quilt, a Quilting needle plunges through multiple layers of fabric with ease. Microtex needles are especially sharp for neatly piercing challenging fabrics. Then there's Jeans needles (obvious), Leather (also obvious), and the Ball Point (great for knits). Pull out your machine and sew away!
